Caja de Valores and MERVAL, Sponsors, Speakers

Nearly 100 member delegates, speakers, sponsors and other ACSDA partners from 22 countries on four continents came together in Buenos Aires last week. In an ambitious bilingual agenda reflecting ACSDA markets’ expanding global impact, they exchanged a wealth of knowledge, insights and experiences at the 3rd ACSDA Leadership Forum (ALF).

After a welcome from Juan Carlos Falabella, President of Caja de Valores S.A. and member of ACSDA’s Executive Committee, the program opened with a keynote address by Lic. Alejandro Vanoli, Chairman of Comision Nacional de Valores de Argentina, who referenced global Group of Twenty and CPSS-IOSCO priorities. These were followed by an in-depth Introduction to the Argentine Capital Markets, A Regional Roundtable Discussion, The World Bank’s Settlement Survey, Implications of Exchange Mergers on Post Trade Infrastructures, Settling and Supporting Cross-Listed Securities, Insights into Leadership and Corporate Governance, among many other topics discussed.

Included in the 3-day agenda jointly led by Argentina’s founding ACSDA members, Mercado de Valores S.A. and Caja de Valores S.A., were networking opportunities during sponsored coffee breaks and lunches, and more so at the welcome reception at MERVAL on Tuesday evening; an evening of tango on Wednesday, and the official dinner on Thursday in the historic dealing room of the Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires, transformed for the evening and featuring operatic stars from the Teatro Colon.

Held every two years since 2007, ALF is an important education, training and information-sharing program that focuses specifically on developing high potential staff within member organizations and other interested parties.

The agenda, presentation materials and photos from this year’s ALF event can be found in the Events section of the ACSDA website.

ACSDA wishes to extend its appreciation to all those who made this wonderful event possible and especially our sponsors, without whose support these events would not be possible!
