Annual Meeting (FIAB)

The Annual Meeting of the Ibero-American Federation of Stock Exchanges (FIAB), is organized this year by the Caracas Stock Exchange, in commemoration of its 75th anniversary. Representatives of the 24 most important stock exchanges from 17 Latin American countries and Spain will attend this meeting virtually; and, in person, there will be representatives of the issuing companies, brokerage houses, analysts, investors and the general public.

The FIAB is an Ibero-American, non-profit organization that brings together stock exchanges and markets, derivatives and other financial instruments from Latin America and Spain. Created in Rio de Janeiro in 1973, the Federation currently has its headquarters in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, since 1983 (www.fiabnet.org).

FIAB’s objectives include:

  • Collaborate with its Members -and encourage collaboration among them- in order to develop and improve the securities markets and financial instruments in the region.
  • Cooperate with national and international entities, with legislative, regulatory and supervisory powers in the field of securities markets and financial instruments, in those aspects that are considered of interest for the development of member stock exchanges and markets.
  • Promote the development of rules and procedures that ensure the solvency, suitability, legitimacy and transparency of the information provided to those who invest your savings through member exchanges and markets.
  • Present in its mission, the FIAB actively participates in various international forums where issues related to the development of securities markets and financial products are discussed, maintaining a fluid interrelation with the Ibero-American Institute of Securities Markets – IIMV, Inter-American Development Bank – IDB, Andean Development Corporation, Investment Bank (CAF), World Federation of Stock Exchanges (WFE), ACSDA, IOSCO, SSE, among others.
