ACSDA XXIII General Assembly

The celebration of the XXIII General Assembly of ACSDA 2021 took place virtually on Tuesday April 13. This is the second consecutive year that the Assembly has been held virtually due to the impact of the pandemic. We are certainly hopeful that we will be able to gather physically in a single location for ACSDA’s XXIV General Assembly in 2022.

This year’s Assembly focused on our activities and accomplishments during the past year and our immediate plans for the future. The pandemic has necessitated that we focus our energy on activities that can be carried out virtually, and in that connection, we were pleased to report that we conducted 10 webinars via Zoom with simultaneous Spanish/English interpretation on a variety of subjects of relevance to our members. These webinars attracted almost 1000 attendees from ACSDA’s members as well as our friends from the Federación Iberoamericana de Bolsas (FIAB). This could not have been possible without the ongoing support of ACSDA’s Supporting Partners whose logos are now displayed on the ACSDA website homepage.

Our Assembly this year also included our election of the nine-member Executive Committee for a two-year term. Javier Jara, from DCV Chile, was elected President, Trevor Blake from the Eastern Caribbean CSD was elected Vice President, and Martha Coronado from CVN Guatemala was elected Treasurer.

We wish to especially thank Roberto Gonzalez (Indeval Mexico) for his service as President for the past four years, and Olga Cantillo (Latinclear Panama) for her service as Treasurer during the same period. John Able from DTCC in the USA is stepping down from the Executive Committee, and we are grateful for his service and the support of his organization to ACSDA.

We look forward to a very productive 12 months until the next General Assembly, and wish all of our members, partners and friends well as we manage our way through this unprecedented time.
