Miami Senior Summit 2019

To provide attendees with information and insights on the CDS business to share with Management and Board members of their respective organizations, ACSDA organised the 2019 Senior Leadership Summit in the JW Marriott Hotel in Miami, Florida.

The premise of this SLS is an educational / information sharing event with the following structure:

  • a two-day event intended for Senior/Executive Management from ACSDA member organizations
  • a program focusing on themes that are currently of high relevance to CSDs in the Americas
  • presentations from experts and members with discussion on the most relevant points
    intended to promote interaction, experience sharing, networking and relationship building among the delegates in attendance.
  • The event was conducted primarily in English aiming to address each theme in the context of the implications for CSDs.

The themes for this year’s SLS were:

  • Challenges and Perspectives for Financial Market Infrastructures
  • International/Collaboration and links – CSDs around the globe are linking and collaboration on initiatives. Who is doing what? What works and what does not seem to work?
  • Business Diversification within and beyond the core has become an imperative for CSDs around the globe. An in-depth review of trends, tendencies, challenges and keys to success including examples of successful diversification initiatives/strategies.
  • Industry trends/issues – A review and discussion of the pressing trends and issues requiring a response from CSD management, including the impact of evolving regulatory demands.
  • Cyber Security/Cyber Resilience is of critical importance to all CSDs. Presentation from an expert in the subject, case studies on CSD programs with a roundtable discussion of key themes, and structuring your program given cost and capacity constraints.
  • Technological Change (DLT, AI, Robotics, Cloud, Core systems) – How is technological change impacting CSDs? Responding to the multiplicity of demands. What is happening in the area of DLT and other emerging technologies.
